As we reflect back on 2017, I can’t help but think of all God has allowed us to experience this past year! Ephesians 3:20 has been a cornerstone verse for us over the past 6 years of ministry. God really has exceeded our expectations and has done immeasurably more than we could’ve asked or imagined. God has given us many incredible memories from 2017 as we’ve led people to passionately follow Jesus and I want to share just a few of the highlights with you.

Your ongoing support continues to be leveraged to advance the Kingdom! We continue to operate debt-free in our sixth year of ministry! Through our partnership together we have seen God do the following:

We witnessed 769 people make a decision to follow Jesus and more than 135 take their next step in baptism across all campuses. We’ve seen more than 2,725 people cross the line of faith since we launched our first Vision Night in December 2011!

Average Weekly Attendance - All Campuses

Our broadcast campus in Gulf Breeze increased to an average weekly attendance of 589 (105 more than last year) and saw 181 salvations! Our second campus, Momentum Navarre, increased to an average weekly attendance of 352 and saw 182 salvations!

We continued to have weekly gatherings at Blackwater River Correctional Facility and have seen 381 salvations and an average weekly attendance of 178! God has given us favor with the warden and staff. Through our established relationship with them, we were able to film and speak at their graduation. And, we’ve been given permission to bring in instruments and lead worship live! 

Our student movement, The Crew, had 73 students in average weekly attendance and 37 salvations!

We had an incredible Easter with 1,902 people in attendance among all 3 of our campuses (Gulf Breeze, Navarre & Blackwater) and 53 people saved by God’s grace! Our Easter Miracle Offering was the largest offering we’ve had in the history of our church with $325,100 given on one Sunday! This offering helped continue raising the funds for land and our future broadcast campus in Gulf Breeze. We currently have $800,074 deposited in the bank and $900,000 pledged in addition to that!

Our team has grown! We hired Caleb O’Neill to serve as our full-time Music Director to assist Matt Arnold in leading our Momentum Music team, planning Sunday worship, and producing music/tracks. We hired Kristen Pesce to serve as our full-time Community Groups Coordinator to assist Stephanie Payne with creating a culture of healthy, growing groups. I am so proud of them for leading us to 47 groups this year! We hired Chelsea Perry as our full-time Project Manager / Finance Assistant leading special events, managing projects, and assisting Gayle Boothe, Finance Director, with financial aspects of the church. We transitioned Amy Geus to serve as our full-time Momentum Kids Director to oversee volunteer teams and kids environments across all campuses as we continue to expand and invest in the Now Generation! We hired Joe Cross as our full-time Production Director to lead our All Access team (audio, video, lighting & camera) across all campuses. 

Our Momentum Music team has carried the vision of writing music and produced their first album, Hope Has a Name, with 5 original songs! They later wrote and produced 2 more songs and released a deluxe edition of the album for a total of 7 original songs recorded this year! All songs were recorded at Black Cat Studios in Griffin, Georgia, at the same studio where Mac Powell, Casting Crowns, Kristian Stanfill, and others have recorded! According to Spotify, the songs reached 17 countries and were streamed a total of 662 hours in 2017. Also, the team led us in 2 Nights of Worship with an average attendance of 400 people

We provided $29,557 for families in need through our ACTSions Benevolence Program (315% increase over last year)!

We supported churches in St. Petersburg, Destin and Los Angeles, as well as launched former staff member/founder, Jim Whitten, and his wife Sarah, to start The Carolina Church in Columbia, South Carolina (Jim remains as a faithful member of our Board). We increased our overall support to $24,617 to these churches in 2017!

We increased our overall missionary support to $52,812 (48% increase over last year) to help fund local and global missions including FCA, University of South Florida and American University campus ministries, Hungry For A Day, God Behind Bars, and missionaries in China, South Africa, and Guatemala. In March, we sent a missions team to Nicaragua led by Dr. Ben Lloyd. The team led 12 people to Jesus, discipled more than 75 pastors, and delivered around 100 Bibles to them for the first time in their native language! In November, we had the privilege to visit missionaries and a church we support in China with my wife, StephanieMatt (Worship / Creative Pastor) and his wife, Elizabeth Arnold. I led a series of sessions on marriage and relationships (including one with all of us on a panel), Stephanie led a session on Community Groups, and Matt led a session on worship leadership and creative elements.

Local & Global Missions, Church Plants & Benevolence

We served the community through various Compassion Serve Initiatives. In the summer we launched an initiative called Love Month where we served 38 local organizations with service projects for an entire month, delivered meals to 36 businesses, served the Gulf Breeze and Navarre High football teams with a steak lunch at each campus at the start of the season, served local law enforcement with a steak lunch at each campus, and served Gulf Breeze Middle and Navarre High teachers with breakfast on multiple occasions. There were 240 volunteers who served a total of 840 man hours! In November we partnered with Hungry for a Day to give 1,343 turkey vouchers to teachers and school faculty at 7 local schools and 325 staff members at Blackwater River Correctional Facility including complete Thanksgiving meals to 155 families in need identified by each school (989 of the vouchers were redeemed at local Walmart stores)! Through the irrational generosity of our church and others, $18,428 was given to fund the initiative! In December, we distributed jackets, socks, blankets, gloves, and tarps to the homeless and those in need as part of Christmas for a Cause

People Served for Hungry for a Day

We partnered with Samaritan’s Purse to support hurricane relief efforts in Texas and Florida in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and Irma. We gave $10,000 of financial support and deployed a team to Naples, Florida, to provide hands-on relief through various service projects.

We served breakfast to the Gulf Breeze High football team and brought leadership challenges to both Gulf Breeze and Navarre High football players on game day every week during the season. Both teams had an incredible year!

We hosted our Lift Women’s Brunch with a sold-out attendance of more than 200 women. Katie Close, our guest speaker, led our women to understand what it means to be truly loved by God and how to discover significance in a thriving relationship with Him.

Some of our team members and volunteers attended a variety of conferences to expand our knowledge and wisdom including Passion in Atlanta, C3 at Fellowship Church in Dallas, Drive at Northpoint Community Church in Atlanta, Inside Elevation at Elevation Church in North Carolina, and Catalyst in Atlanta. We were challenged, encouraged and given great wisdom that set us up for incredible future success.
