SERIES: Love Ran Red: “The Sacrifice For Sin”
SPEAKER: Pastor Tim Payne
SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 9:12, 22 NLT
THE LAUNCHING POINT: With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
MAKING THE CONNECTION:
1. Read the passage of Genesis 3:3-5 as a group.
What had God been trying to protect them from? (or who)
How were their eyes opened?
2. “But the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’ He answered, “I heard You in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.” Genesis 3:9-10
What have you tried to hide from God?
In what way does He always find you? Share
3. In Genesis 5:11-14, The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
How many times do we blame someone else? What does God want us to do in this situation?
What are some of the excuses that you have told God for your sin?
4. Romans 3:23-25 says “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of Gods glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood.”
How do you see yourself?
